The HP Color LaserJet CP4005n printer is another in a line of 4000 series printers that delivers notable performance combined with exceptional durability. To handle the needs of most any-size work team as well as getting that same work team outstanding color printing capabilities. It’s not an inexpensive machine but neither is it actually very expensive, relatively speaking.
Print speeds in the 4005n are fairly exceptional, considering that the printer is made to handle both color and monochrome. In black-and-white, the 4005n is able to print out at a robust 30 ppm while color print jobs are given to the tasker at around 25 ppm. It’ll be difficult to find another printer for the price that could do this sort of print tasking at the same price point.
The printer seems to be designed to deliver the maximum number of copies possible in the shortest amount of time. From the time the printer is tasked with a print job until the time the first sheet of print product emerges is only around 12 seconds. Each sheet will also emerge looking more than acceptable because of the machine’s 600 by 600 dpi resolution, which is par for the course for a workgroup printer of this characteristic.
Just about any information technology (IT) specialists tasked with getting the printer connected to a network has remarked that the job seems to go particularly easy. It comes with both USB and Ethernet connection ports although it doesn’t feature any sort of wireless capability. Hewlett-Packard, though, has other printers in this series that can handle that sort of connectivity task.
A full 128 MB of random access memory (RAM) is already included with the printer and that can be upgraded to 512 MB fairly quickly. Most workgroups, however, probably will be fine with just the 128 MB. An included 533 MHz processor is also on board, handling all print tasks with ease and which is always making sure that all print jobs are shaped up and then shipped out fairly quickly.
The 4005n has been designed to be able to handle around 600 sheets of paper, with up to 1100 of storage available when all optional and standard paper trays are used. The variety of paper and other media materials that can be handled is excellent, with envelopes, transparencies, labels and even high-gloss paper taken care of with ease.
Monthly duty cycle when it comes to the 4005n is notable for its high number — especially given the relative inexpensiveness of the printer — coming in at 80,000 pages per month. The higher the duty cycle number, the lower the frequency of required maintenance activities that’ll be needed. HP says it can print between 2,000 and 6,000 pages per month before needing even the slightest amount of very minor maintenance as well.
In all, the HP Color LaserJet CP4005n printer comes to a work team at a nice price (currently it can be found for between $920.00 and $1600.00) and with many versatile features and functions. It can run off of many different operating systems (both Windows and Mac-based), including Windows Server 2003 and MacOS X 10.2 and XP Professional. The printer seems able to do most things well and nothing very poorly at all. Just make sure to stay stocked on toner and ink cartridge. Hp Toner Cartridge is found easily online.
